The topic for today goes really well with all of you guys getting out of your Saturday trainings and that is promoting events, we’re going to be talking about promoting events today so for all those people in your teams that didn’t show up at their trainings today this will be a really good one for you to get them on and if you can’t get them on this live periscope be sure to get them on the follow up. Also at billandcynthiadelany.com we are going to be putting up several new training videos in the next couple of days so be watching for new trainings at billandcynthiadelany.com.
Alright, we’re going to get started so, promoting events — for you guys that are brand new it’s really easy to get excited about this events it’s obvious why you are so excited about it because you know your hopes and dreams are fired up right now. For those of you that have been to a lot of events maybe you been in the industry for a while and you’ve attended a lot of events and you think well I don’t learn as much as I did in the beginning, it doesn’t matter you guys, it’s not about what you are going to learn it’s about setting the duplicable or the duplication of behaviour within your entire organization people aren’t going to do what you don’t do you can expect people to be willing to do the things that you are not willing to do and you want to consider duplication in everything that you are doing.
So a couple of things occur when you attend an event ok, the most prominent one you guys I want you to understand is a phenomenon called ‘social proof’, have you guys heard of this social proof? Social proof alright, am going to read to you the definition right now ok, social proof also known as informational social influence is a psychological phenomenon were people assume the actions of others in an attempt to reflect correctly behaviour in a given situation. ok so think about this you guys this social proof phenomenon is the exact reason that home meetings are better than one on one and home meetings are better than three way calls because those are very hard to create social proofs in those methods of exposure. So social proof is a very, very powerful psychology trigger for people, think about it you are a brand new guest you come in to the room they are you know let’s say there’s three, or four or five distributors in the room and five or ten guests in the room and the guests get to see other distributors and guest that are excited about their hopes and dreams, their future and the possibilities and their everyone is running in the same direction, everyone is happy and excited and those guests get a big whole doze of fomo right?
Some of you know what fomo is? Fear of missing out, fear of loss. The psychological things are way more than some of the other things we consider nuts and bolts and specifics and details, Cynthia and I don’t believe that we are in sales, we believe that we are teachers and that we are just transferring belief to people and when you transfer believe to people they become your business partners and they become your customers, ok so these psychological triggers that we love to teach on are really, really important they are as important if not more important than some of the nuts and bolts that you learnt if you master the psychology you will win the game of network marketing that’s just all there is to it you guys. Stop thinking sales forget sales and start thinking psychology just literally figuring out listen to and figuring out what people need right and when you are a better listener than you are a better speaker you’re going to fulfil those needs at a much higher level and when you implement these psychological triggers along with that, magical things will happen for you and the people that you are influencing with the psychological triggers.
So we get social proof when we attend events, we also get a gigantic dose of belief and belief you guys is insanely important in network marketing because if you don’t completely believe, if you are not all in, people are going to sense that they are going to feel it you guys, they are going to feel your energy when you just invite them to get information literally ok, so attending events doesn’t just build your belief it builds your teams’ belief, it builds everyone’s belief that’s there, it keeps you in the fire because let’s face it, let’s be honest, network marketing is simple but it’s not always easy and it’s hard on us emotionally because some of us get really emotionally attached to the outcome of things, the way that our business is growing or not growing we get emotionally attached to that and attending this events is a huge key in overcoming those obstacles you guys as they come along so am talking about the fundamental principles of why you should attend events, you should attend events because you are going to learn something every single time but bigger than that your team is going to duplicate what you do or don’t do. So attending events is very important.
The other thing is no matter what company you are in, I guarantee this principal holds true across all companies in network marketing, people that attend events have a larger chance and our company about two and half years ago, maybe three years ago now did some random matrix on people that attended events and people that didn’t attend events and the people that did attend events check sizes were more than five times bigger, five times bigger checks, so do you want checks that are five times bigger? Then get your people to attend events by you leading by example.
So it’s really simple, it’s back to duplication again, back to duplication so you guys I hope you see the value in promoting events? The last thing I want to talk to you about promoting events is you should never leave an event without promoting the next event, so if you are at a home meeting, you are promoting the next training, the next home meeting whatever that next events is you should promote it at the last event that you are wrapping up so don’t ever end an event without promoting the next event you guys that’s a key in keeping your team in the fire keeping that fire burning hot you guys. So we love you, we’ll see you next time — enjoy the rest of your Saturday because you don’t get it back we love you, checking out see ya!
